Plant & Animal Exploration at Slate Run Metro Park

Become a scientist by helping us record species in the park! We will look high and low for plants and animals, from treetops to under rocks in the creek. Dress for on- and off-trail hiking and creeking adventure. Program begins at 6:30pm with a quick intro. Running a few minutes late? Hike down the Five Oaks trail and you should find us. Download iNaturalist ahead of time if you plan on using that platform. Meet in the Shady Grove picnic area by the trailhead/restrooms.

Parking Information: Meet at the Shady Grove Picnic Area. Once in Slate Run Metro Park, turn left just past the Ranger Station cabin. Parking is free.
